Is there a membership or subscription fee required for Zippy Clients?

Nope! With Zippy, you only pay for your private shopping grocery order when you use the service. The only requirement to become a Zippy Client is to complete your Welcome Meeting and sign our client agreement.

What’s the difference between selecting a delivery day and submitting order details?

Zippy clients have the option to select their delivery days in advance at a lowered rate to reserve their spot for a delivery on a specific day. However, we don’t require clients to submit their order details until 2 days prior to their selected delivery date. Zippy will send you reminders as opted into during your welcome meeting. This is custom to our clients and will do our best to support reminders in ways that are helpful to you.

For example, a Zippy client can select delivery dates by the 25th of the current month for deliveries on the 7th, 18th and 30th, each at the lowest delivery rate available. This client would have until midnight on the 5th, 16th and 28th to submit their order details on time and to have item availability guaranteed. Zippy will work with clients who submit order details late, but cannot guarantee item availability for your delivery.

Is there a preferred method for placing the order details for my Zippy delivery day?

Yes, our preferred/default method for placing an order is with our order detail outline template. Clients may submit their order details virtually, by sharing a photo of their physical order detail pad (provided to clients as requested), or calling in their order.

We also accept other communication methods for your order details which can be discussed during your welcome meeting.

What if the store is out of one of my items and there isn’t a good substitute?

For orders placed on-time for your delivery day, Zippy guarantees the delivery of your item or suitable substitution (as long as there is not a regional shortage) and will shop in order of your preferred stores when possible. Delivery days must be selected in advance and the details of your order must be placed 2 days prior to the delivery date. Order details submitted late are not guaranteed to have every item in your order, but your private shopper will do everything possible to deliver your completed grocery order.

How much is the delivery fee for Zippy?

Delivery fees vary from $20 to $50 based on when a client confirms their delivery order. Delivery fees also vary for personal, business, and short term rental deliveries. For exact pricing, learn more here.

What is the 10% service fee on the total cost of my order?

The service fee Zippy charges is in lieu of any mark ups on the prices of the items in your grocery delivery order. We charge this transparent service fee to give our clients peace of mind, knowing that they were not subject to extreme and inconsistent markups.

Remember- prices on app-based delivery services are marked up as high as 30%, not including the 10-15% service fee, minimum charges, and tip. After all the up charges, delivery drivers are still not paid a living wage and rely on tips. Zippy creates a win-win situation for our clients and business model alike. Finally, there is a a delivery service where you don’t have to tip and the quality of your order won’t vary based on who happens to select your order. Your private shopper will learn all your preferences and relevant information to successfully complete your orders every time.

What time will my order be delivered?

Delivery times may vary, but your ideal delivery windows will be discussed in your welcome meeting. Exact time requests can typically be honored when requested with your on time order details for the delivery date.

What if I need to add something to my order?

If you need to add something to your order after the on-time order detail deadline, please reach out to Zippy via your preferred method of contact. Your shopper will do everything possible to add the forgotten items to your order details.

I have pets in the home. Can I still receive an in-home delivery?

As long as clients communicate what animals will be in the house in advance, Zippy will deliver in-unit to homes with pets. If you have a pet who dislikes people in their home, please place them in an area secluded from the kitchen or delivery space. This can be discussed further in your welcome meeting.

I don’t want my order delivered inside my house, what other benefits can Zippy Private Shopping offer?

Our clients can rest assured that even if in-unit delivery isn’t what they need, Zippy can still deliver to strategic places. If you want your order in the garage, hidden in a bench, behind your fence or by the side/back door step, your shopper would be happy to do so. Your items will also be delivered in the appropriate thermal bags to keep your items hold and cold for a longer period of time from delivery. This will be discussed in your Zippy welcome meeting.

Should I tip my Zippy Private Shopper?

Our business model reduces the unnecessary up charges and fairly compensates our shoppers (and not corporate profits) so that our clients do not need to tip. In the event you have a more complex, large/heavy order or various late additions, feel free to tip your Zippy shopper, but tipping is in no way a requirement or expectation of Zippy Clients.

My delivery address is not currently included in your service area, can I request an expansion to the locations where Zippy Private Shopping is offered?

Yes! We have a form for potential clients to fill out who are not currently in one of our service areas. Depending on the location and current number of clients, we may be unable to offer delivery services at this time. However, we can keep your request to revisit when more capacity for clients arises.

What are Zippy’s environmental efforts?

Our business model aims to reduce emissions by shopping for multiple clients at once and grouping deliveries in the same areas to reduce cars on the road. We also utilize reusable bags and insulated bags for our clients deliveries, unlike app-based grocery delivery services.
